Cy-Fair VFD participates in 2
day Interior Fire Training
Cy-Fair VFD participated in a two day interior fire training
at a home that was donated to the department. The home located on Tanner Rd on
the east side of Cy-Fair’s district. The donated home was used for our
department training and then burned down completely to be rebuilt at a later
date.
The training was lead by District
Chief Ricky Baker who coordinated the two day training with all the 11 stations
within the department and also included neighboring fire department Jersey Village. The days started early around 0700 and lasted
till around 5:00 pm each day. A few days
before the training, Chief Baker along with some of the CFVFD Instructors and
Safety Officers, meet to determine correct procedures which needed to be followed
per the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines for Fire
Training in the United
States.
After everything was ready to go,
the training started on a cold and wet Saturday morning that brought out 6
stations for training and the rest of the stations would come on Sunday.
For those that participated in this
training, it is vital to our department and individuals to experience a “live”,
but controlled fire, to enhance their team and individual skills while fighting
an interior structure fire. Those that were there would especially like to
thank our Rehab crew that showed up and supplied food, snacks, drinks and hot
coffee for both days.

department from Sunday’s training. The training had concluded and it was time
to Burn it Down!
